I swapped out the colors and used a rub-on flourish for my main element ... I loved the idea of punching a mask for sponging the squares ... worked like a charm.
However, trying to apply a rub-on to an inky surface was not the best plan. Even though I heat set the ink, I still had the darndest time finally getting it to stick ... but I persisted.
I inked the sentiment with black, then blue, then a few taps of silver to coordinate with my sponged colors.

Wow, that card is a blast from the past!! Your color scheme is gorgeous and I had no idea that rub-ons were ink resistant!! Your perseverance paid off! This is a beauty!! What a thrill for me to see you case one of "my" cards my friend!! Thanks for your kind words and helping me celebrate today!!
