Happy Veteran's Day everyone! Today, I want to sincerely THANK all of those who have served in our Armed Forces so that the rest of us can continue to enjoy our great freedom in the USA.
I created this card for SSS. We were to be inspired by a gorgeous photo of a Poppy field. These flowers are very special as they have come to symbolize REMEMBRANCE. Perfect for Veteran's Day!
Here's a quick explanation;
There was complete devastation of buildings, roads, trees, and natural life that simply disappeared. Where once there were homes and farms there was now a sea of mud, a grave for the dead where the men still lived and fought.
Only one other living thing survived, and that was the Poppy ---> flowering each year with the coming of the warm weather. It brought life, hope, color and reassurance to those still fighting for freedom.

WOW... fabulous coloring! It looks as though you could reach your hand right into the mailbox. Your card is beautiful, and a wonderful tribute to veterans, servicemen and women and also to their families. Thanks you for sharing the story of poppies and their symbolism.

What a meaningful and precious card!! I remember my mom telling me the story of the poppy; it makes these beautiful flowers even that more special. Thanks for reminding us what this day is all about.
