I have often found a hiding place in nature to find peace, and one of my first "hiding" places as a child was in a tree house (yes, Tom Boy all the way!). I can still hear the crickets and feel the breeze on my face, away from traffic and the noises of everyday life. I loved this sentiment by Stampscapes because it reflects something I have always known, God speaks....and the sentiment reminds me of this Scripture:
"The heavens declare the glory of God;
he skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun."
Psalm 19:1-4
I was asked to do a remake on a card like this from last year, and it sat in my stamp room in various stages for ten months, until yesterday when I was inspired by a dear friend's card. (thank you nwilliams6!)
Using Stampscapes Nature Sheet 7, I embossed the trees on green bazzill, cut out and adhered at different levels using foam tape. The church was stamped on Close to Cocoa, and paper pieced to add dimension. It is framed using a Spellbinder. The sentiment was black embossed over a designer paper that had a distressed look to it. The clouds in the background are a technique you can find on this .
Thanks for looking!

Pat, I get excited when I see each and every one of your creations. This is soooo peaceful and lovely and the Psalm you share makes one really pause and think....Love the visual of God pitching a tent for the sun. It may have sat for a long time in your work area, but in the light of eternity it sat only a short moment and now it gets to bring great joy! Just love the sentiment!! Outstanding and beautiful creation.

What a gorgeous card. I love the depth and the details. The church reminds me of a little country church I attended for years and I love the saying. Another Smethers masterpiece!

I did not think it was possible to make this card any more perfect than it was done originally 10 months ago, but you have proven me wrong! The insights and the thought behind it have made it a deeply 'spiritual' experience - not only for you, but for those of us you have shared it with.
In this, we are blessed! Bless your heart for sharing this, Pat! LYMI!
