Today's challenge in the Hope You Can Cling To series of challenges for the month of October is entitled "Fight Like A Girl" and we were challenged to use "girlie" embellishments. I had been working on this card yesterday using the Technique Lover's Challenge to stack up layers of background stamping. I started with a piece of glossy cs and stamped the Canvas bg in Bashful Blue. I then stamped Simple Snowflakes (a single stamp that I repeated) in Island Indigo, my latest favorite blue!!!, then stamped the Holiday Print bg over that. I placed rhinestones in the center of each of the snowflakes. I punched the reverse snowflake and backed it with another piece of glossy cs and layered that on a scallop circle, then added a gem to the center. The sentiment is also stamped on glossy cs and the small snowflakes are actually centers from the reverse punch snowflake with more bling to make it girlie!
I don't know about you, but in the midst of difficult circumstances, I sometimes have to fight to rejoice. It is far easier to give way to pessimism and depression. Hope that this card spreads a little cheer to a breast cancer patient.
