In October 2006, our friend Jeff, visiting from Australia, DH and I met in Manhattan and took a 10-day trip visiting parts of New York State. We spent 3 days in the Adirondack Mountain region and spent some time at Whiteface Mountain.
Although I live in AZ now, I lived in NY (mostly Long Island) for my first 40 years, moving to upstate NY for my high school years, then back to L.I. after getting married. I savored the magnificence of the fall season before the snow & 30-below-zero weather settled in for the long winter.
This page is for Michele's Autumn Inspired challenge (SBVC160) to create a page with autumn colors, and for Nicole's digi-scrap challenge (DGC065) to use lots of "white" space, meaning keep a good portion of the page blank. So, what I have here is a Whitespace Whiteface page (sorry for the corny humor!)
We were to use white space, only 7 elements and for gold star points, we could use plaid and a monochromatic color scheme. I used the plaid (frame), but I'm not sure if this qualifies as monochromatic or not!
I created the frame by using the marquee tool to delete the center of the plaid paper, used the bevel tool, added a little shadow, then clipped the photo under the frame.
