This is a happy day indeed when a card I'd pictured in my mind turned out even better when I executed it!!! Today's challenge was to use brown bags in our cards. Since we home school I don't keep lunch bags about, but I had a bag from the bagel store. I thought about a woodgrain bg using the bag. First I really distressed my piece of bag by running it through my crimper several times in different directions and using my bone folder to smooth it out afterwards. I then inked up my Distressed Texturz plate with Crumb Cake and ran the piece through the Big Shot...I crumpled it, tore it and sponged the edges.....man, I really put a hurtin' on this poor brown bag!!! After mounting on a frame of Early Espresso that I also distressed I added some hemp that I also distressed and sponged. For the tree image I inked up the tree in More Mustard then used my markers to add more color. I added a leaf pile by inking just the top of the tree again using the same process and repeated a couple of times.
I LOVE this tree...why did I wait so long to buy this set??? So blessed to have a husband who supports my stamping. He just OK'ed a HUGE order that I put in before resigning as a demonstrator and I'm glad I put this set on my big list!

I have to fav this cuz it sounds like so much fun and the result is WOW! Your tree is gorgeous and the way you made your leaf pile is so clever!!! Your card reminds me of vintage needlework.

What a beautiful card! Loved the story of your distressing the poor paper bag but you brought out the beauty in it! Love how you put the leaves on the ground too! Hadn't thought of that but may need to CASE the idea!! Great card! Isn't it wonderful when our DH support our hobbies!?!!
