Ok, I made another birthday card this weekend for another friend. Lolo and I have been exchanging $25 back and forth as a joke for a few years now. We always know what to give each other and there is no shopping or guessing involved. LOL!
I wanted to try something different and I had these Maya Road envelopes hanging around here for a while. I thought this would be a unique way to give Lo her gift. Instead of placing the money inside the card, I am going to put it inside the envelope!
Ok, about the card. First, I took the envelope and misted it real good with water. I then crumbled and unfolded it several times to get it nice and wrinkly. After I got the envelope the way I wanted, I used my iron to dry and flatten it. I glued the envelope to a stiff piece of cardstock to help it lay flat and to give it some sturdiness when I adhere it to the card. The edges were brushed with white acrylic paint and I glued a little piece of lace to one edge.
The bg dp was sewn and brushed with white acrylic paint. I added the lace, adhered the envelope onto the panel with dimensionals and glued on the flowers, leaves, stick pins and seam binding bow. A couple of gold beads glued into the flower centers, some half pearls on the corner and some distressing ink sponged on the card base edges and voila! I am DONE!
