My Dad is my art inspiration. I watched him work with wood in his carpentry shop. He loved wood and always showed me the "beautiful" grain as he sanded, stained, and finished every kind of hardwood. He was a master. His other passion was the garden of flowers, trees, and vegetables.
Those are my greatest inspirations and I do my work with paper similar to the way he worked with wood. For instance, he saved all the little pieces of leftover wood to make small items later. I save all scraps of paper and now use them to make amazing collage elements.
A friend suggested that the space between the wood pieces is "a path between the generations". Very beautiful. Thought I would share that also.
Thank you Dad.
