I made this for today's Color Challenge, but wasn't able to upload until now due to the technical difficulties on SCS. Anyway, the colors, as I remember them were Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and Wonderful Wisteria. A really tough color combo for me. I'm more of brights or jewel tone type and these pastels were one tough row to hoe! Even finding papers these colors proved a real chore. I finally went with some dp that was very close to the Sahara Sand and found a piece of DCWV mat stack that was almost identical to the Blushing Bride. I added in a Wisteria color when I colored the quilt with markers. I paper pieced a little of the rug and colored the rest, then die cut it w/ the matching rocking chair die. I attached it over a Cheery Lynn Kiwi doily die I die cut out of white c/s.
The sentiment was die cut using a Spellbinders tag die that I resized the die to fit my sentiment and flipped the die around to have the same end on both sides. It's attached to fancy tag die cut that I split in half to frame the sentiment tag. I added a little faux stitching w/ a dk gray marker around the edges of the sentiment tags and the dp layer. The finished card measures 4.25 x 5.5.
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.

Julie, one would never know that these colors would give you trouble. I love the quilt - it's so soft and inviting that I just want to curl up in the rocker w/ that quilt. I love your card.

What a beautiful sentiment paired with that wonderful image, Julie. Your coloring is so soft and lovely....gives a warm, homey feeling. The doily is a perfect "go-with" for this cozy image. A truly lovely card.
