First I really blew the subject matter. I was making a couple of cards at the same time and I got the recipient confused and thought this one was a child who was terminal and we weren't supposed to mention "get well". I figured the party dog atmosphere might bring some joy. OK so the recipient is a full grown man and this card looks like a kids BDay card! Elizabeth learn to read.
On an artistic level I had coloured the dog to my liking then after it was mounted on the card I tinkered with the colours and added some darker brown areas. Not liking the contrast I went over it all with a too yellow copic. The dog came out lurid yellow instead of a honey tone.
I bought the stamp at a convention and it is unmounted rubber with no name on it, so unknown.I added the party hat and popped it up.

I had to laugh at the trials you went through to make one simple card.. and I can so relate. Seems like the more time I spend on a card, the less I like it.. But I love the coloring on your pooch! Thanks for sharing.

OK, I too, am laughing at your comments! Such an easy thing to do isn't it? I think your card looks great and remember we are supposed to be sending something cheery and this definitely qualifies! Love that party hat!

Aren't we our worst critics! There is nothing wrong with this dogs coloring or the card! Both are happy and cheerful! The dog is ready for a party and all the streamers that go along with one! I love the red and the polka dotted party hat and dp!!
