I was inspired to make my own rack as a result of someone else showing pictures of a rack her son built behind her door. I thought that in itself was incredibly clever and creative. What a great use of dead space. You can see it here: Punch Rack Organizer
We also don't have an IKEA store to buy the cheap towel rods that everyone else is using, so I had to find a different but workable solution.
I also do not have a door to build behind. I had no idea where this thing was going to go once it was done, but darnit I was going to build it! and build it I did. All by myself. I used power tools and everything! LOL I heart DeWalt. I had a little help from my husband cutting the rails because my hands were not strong enough, but the design and construction I worked out myself. I used 1" x 6" spruce for the frame# I cut dado's on them and used 1/8" pressed board for the back# For the rails I used conduit# It's super sturdy and very affordable# I then primed it and added 2 coats of ultra white cabinet/trim paint then sealed it with a couple coats of Krylon matte spray# I'm very pleased with the outcome# Now I can see exactly what I have and where it is#
I've also just finished moving my craft studio and you care to have a look how this fits in there feel free to drop on by the Paper Castle
Thanks for lookin' !

Agh...and, of course, you had to build it yourself! (I know you most likely copied a card you made to do it too, huh?) Bwahahaha! You have a fabulous and beautiful mind my friend, and I am skeered of you! Hugs.....

Looks super! Maybe I can get Gord to make me one...
Now I'm off to check out your latest craft-room re-org. Or maybe I should wait, 'cause I don't have time to be inspired to change mine around right now!
