For the July 2011 Diva Dare competition. Sentimental About Paper, we were asked to make a card that uses patterned paper and showcases a sentiment stamp (or two or three...). No image stamps allowed. This features three sentiments from Verve's Dream Big set. Given the happy thoughts, I selected a bold, playful color scheme and a simple layout. The sentiment is glued inside the cut out window. While it doesn't show with the card closed, when opened the red strip has a scalloped top edge that echos the lovely loopy sentiment and scalloped window frame.
After working on several multilayered pieces lately, it's refreshing to work on something simple.

I hear ya about the simple layers! The thing is, they can have just as much of an impact when done right...and you've done right! The patterned paper is the perfect backdrop for your lovely sentiment and the scalloped die cut highlights it marvelously! Great take on the challenge!
