I wanted a really bright color block background, so rather than inking my acrylic blocks, I used acrylic paint. I did not want a completely solid image, so I painted, stamped off, and then stamped off again for the final background for my silhouettes. The paint gives a much brighter, bolder affect.
After it was dry, I stamped my silhouette image which is from Cornish Heritage Farms, punched out some butterflies, and glued all the pieces together. You might not be able to tell that I weaved some pale yellow nylon ribbon through the double edged border punch in the background. It has an irridescent sheen to it in person. While this challenge really was a challenge for me - lol - I am happy with the result.
Thanks so much for checking it out, and let me know what you think. I always appreciate the comments
P.S. OOPS - I forgot to mention this fits this month's July Fan Club challenge to use stars, stripes, polka dots, or all three (background DP has faint polka dots)

So striking! I love the bold colors and the ribbon adds a certain softness. Great card!
