I haven't found time to do a challenge for ages so today I took a stab at this week's inspiration challenge. I was feeling a bit "punchy" so I chose this Flower Stalks Wall Art as my inspiration piece from the Oopsy Daisy site.
Other than the fact that I used lots of punches, this is totally unlike just about anything else in my gallery. I printed the inspiration piece at card size and cut it up to use as a mask to sponge the background (my fingers are quite colourful at the moment). Then I set about punching circles out of bits of scrap cardstock. For the leaves and stalks, I sponged ink onto vellum. A bit of sponging over the circles to 'grunge it up' a bit and this is what I came up with.
I have a few "unbirthday" cards I need to send (for those that I forgot and since today is "I Forgot" Day (well it was when I made the card) I am also claiming this for this week's Free 4 All Challenge to pick a 'holiday' that is 'celebrated' in July. (I also forgot to use any stamps...) :-)
PT: Well, there are 32 circles and 9 leaves on this crazy card. I should take this to the Tea Party this week - it looks like someone broke their abacus!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.

Your sponged background is amazing (I'll bet your fingers are colorful - LOL), and I love the vellum leaves. Bright and cheerful - great card and great job.

This is really cool and retro! Love the colors and design. It isn't like other cards in your gallery, but it is still very fun and artistic. Love it!

Izzy, you've made a card!!!! So much travelling, you have just not put those creative juices to work for a while. Now, I really like this and looks a bit art deco to me. Great job with those punches and I'm wondering if you still have ink on those fingers. I LOVE your unique and very cool card. Way to go, Izzy. I believe you're getting back to card making instead of wandering all over the country...yours, mine, and others. LOL
