An upcoming challenge is to use circles, so I was playing with them. This one is too big for a card (a little over 8" diameter), so I made a wall hanging out of it.
I cut 6 pieces of ribbon, 6" long each. Gather each piece in the middle, placing each one next to the previous piece. When all are gathered, you then take a 8' piece of wire ad wrap this tightly around the center from both directions going through the star button in the front. Twist the wires together in the back.
Cut each end of the ribbon into a dovetail shape.
Cut 3 circles approximately 8" in diameter, 2 out of dp, 1 out of heavy c/s.
Thread the wire into a hole punched into a heavy piece of c/s that has been cut into a circle and the top side has been covered with a piece of dp. Tape the wire down flat and cover ends so they do not puncture the dp that will cover this backside. Cover this with the other piece of dp.
Shape the ribbon to make a flower.
This ribbon is wired, but you can use regular ribbon too.
See this card for another example with regular ribbon. MM5AC Ribbon flower by mother's daughter at Splitcoaststampers
Thread embroidery floss through the ready made tag by We are Memory Keepers and attach this to the ribbon flower, so that is hangs just under the bottom part of the flower.
I'm going to give this to my LSS owner, so I will wait until I see how she wants to display it before I poke a hole at the top or add a hanger to the back.
