I recently made sheets of hand-made paper with embedded wildflower seeds, then cut the paper into shapes using my Big Shot and various dies. I attached the paper to one side of a piece of card stock with planting instructions created in My Digital Studio on the other. I put the card in a cello bag and gave them as class and Mother's Day gifts.
Not only is this a different gift idea, but one that will bring color to a summer garden.
I used my paper-making kit. But, full directions and a link on how to make paper using everyday household items can be found on my blog site:

Mine was a Christmas gift from my husband several years ago. He purchased it online, but you might be able to find one at your local arts and crafts or hobby store.
Mine is the Arnold Grummer Papermill Pro. You can purchase it directly at: http://www.arnoldgrummer.com/
Hope that helps.
