Today's challenge was to use "freebies" from our stash to make a card. This card meets the challenge 4 ways: 1) Free tutorial from which I got the layout Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge - Stampin' Pretty - My Fun & Chic Stampin' Up! Boutique, Mary Fish, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Video Tutorials 2) Free directions on making the flower from this card (I didn't do it quite as directed...ooops) CC324 Purple Carnations_lb by Clownmom at Splitcoaststampers 3) Free tutorial for the leaves from here: http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.co...-art-card.html 4) Free stamp set 5) Free charm from someone
The squares were punched then stamped and distressed using the cutter kit distressing tool then crumpling and sponging. I masked the butterfly squares. The flower is made using the scallop punch...I misread the directions and cut my scallops in half instead of tearing each scallop into 2 layers! Anyway, I punched the scallops, ran them along the edge of my desk to break the fibers, dragged the edges in the ink and then cut them each in half and rolled and layered them. I used my piercing tool to curl the petals a bit.

Love your design and images. Good job on the flower, too.

What a lovely card, Gail. The window pane look is so effective with the distressed edges.....that took some time, but well spent time. Love your colors and the pretty butterfly and flower.
