I like the idea of this technique and have seen it in a few of the books that I have. I wonder how to stop the bleaching process though. With clothing, bleach can eat a hole right through, so why wouldn't the same issue apply to paper?
I've used the Castaway Ink Pad with much the same effect (though that needs to be heatset - iron worked better than the heat gun)- and suspect that the pad is loaded with a bleaching agent of some kind. I wonder if oxygen based bleach would have the same effect? Has anyone tried using dishwasher gel?
Also, I notice on many of the papers intended for scrapbooking that they are listed as chlorine and lingen free - so I assume this technique wouldn't be good for archival materials. Has anyone tried other mediums - ink, dye, watercolor or acrylic paint - with the bleach and what results did they get? sab
