I'm participating in the SCS Christmas Card Challenge and this is one of my cards for the May Challenge.
I'm not very good at vintage style cards but I make all my sister's Christmas cards for her and she likes a few vintage ones in her batch. So I used kraft cardstock and a muted vintage-looking dp for two of my cards. I used the same holly stamp for both and wanted to see how it would compare being stamped in black ink heat embossed with clear ep , versus just being stamped in black ink. This is the heat embossed one and I think it makes the image pop more. Both are coloured with the same copic markers. The other card is: Vintage Holly with Ribbon by susanbri at Splitcoaststampers
This one is finished off with a handmade paper backing layer and a bow made of red twine, and it's cut out with a different Nesties label.
It's the one I prefer of the two versions.

Very pretty! I think you did fine with your vintage look. It's just not your usual style which may be why you are uncomfortable with it! I agree that this is the better-looking of the two...maybe it's the twine, and maybe the shape of the main image panel???
