The tutorial in the Inkling this week was for Metal Flowers. I didn't have any coloured foil as used in the tutorial, so I improvised.
First I cut and punched some flowers from a regular aluminium foil cooking tray. Then I painted them with acrylic paints and left them a couple of hours to dry. Then I embossed, sanded, shaped and glued them. I don't often make cards that require a box to mail, but with all the dimension (those foil flowers are SO easy to shape as you wish) this will either have to go in with a gift or have a box custom made.
Base is 5 3/4" square, paper is Provocraft Illuminations. The edges were sponged with Forest Moss and Soot Black. Looking at the uploaded photo I see I could do with adding a snippet of another fern die-cut! Computer-generated sentiment cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Tag and attached with brown organza ribbon to match the butterfly.
It appears it was good timing for DH to have bought me a hot glue gun .

As always, Sabrina, you have created a masterpiece! What a brilliant idea to use alternative foil! I am a firm believer in Necessity being the mother of invention! Some of the most successful projects have come together because some "ingredient" was missing! Honey to replace corn syrup is one such example *grin*. Thank you so much for sharing.
