What a super site for today's Inspiration Challenge! While looking thru it, I noticed a lot of neutral colors and I finally chose Hostess Skirt for the lacy look and monochromatic colors.
We've been having some work done on our house so there's been lots of banging and sawing and hammering going on every day. I have kind of gotten used to it but my parrots are nervous wrecks. Every little noise and they think they're under attack. I can't imagine anyone coming after a parrot w/ a hammer and nails. It would be a lot like trying to nail jello to the wall, lol. But I'm sure in their little parrot heads they're imagining all kinds of terrible fates.
Anyway, all images are DRS Designs. The flowers reminded me of the lacy flowers in the skirt and also a flower bed full of daisies we had in the house I grew up in. Loved them! So after stamping the image twice and gold embossing, I used a little bleach on the second batch of daisies, cut some out and attached them on the base image. They just give a little dimension and subtle difference in color. The gold paper behind them was cut w/ a lg blossom die.
On the background, I gold embossed the dots on top and the medium daisy bloom on the bottom. I used a lt sand marker to add just a hint of color. Finished card measures 4.25 x 5.5. Gold embossing just adds elegance to any image, don't you think?
Thanks so much for looking! Close ups are on the DRS blog. My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them. But you can still see it on the DRS Blog linked above.

How gorgeous is that - it may be monochrome but it still just jumps out of the gallery and into my favourites.
Your poor little parrots - I hope they get their peace and quiet back soon.

It is even more lovely than that dreamy skirt! I appreciate the work in this, not hard work but you didn't just cut a piece of dp and call it pretty. You made your own pretty and did it wonderfully. Will check out DRS Designs.

Beautiful card. Love the tone on tone colors. Sooo pretty. Awww, your poor birds. We have a macaw at the office and if anything unusual is going on, he freaks out. He doesn't know he can fly, but he "accidentally" flies when something spooks him. He's huge flying through the office. But he's afraid to fly (imagine a bird afraid to fly) and he squawks all the way. Then he lands on the floor and puts his foot up so someone will pick him up and take him back to his cage. Then he tries to bite whoever rescued him, as if it is that person's fault he got spooked. Birds are such fun--especially parrots. Fortunately our clients love him.

This card is very pretty. I think I would like to see this in real life. All the gold must be very striking. I love the tone on tone. It is very attractive. tfs
