Our challege with StampinB this week is hosted by Emily Keaton as follows:
TGIF Standing For:
T= Texture
G= Green
I= Iridescent, and
F= Anything that starts with an "F"
My texture is the ef on dsp and white matting
My green is on cardstock and coloring.
My iridescent is stickles on the cake stands and sparkly brads.
Now here comes the WEIRD part that only I can make claim to:
The "F" was used with my fabulous FRUITCAKES. NOT just ONE fruitcake, but THREE fruitcakes for my special friends who will, no doubt, attend my birthday party. I have to have enough to spread around to my guests. It's the gift that KEEPS ON GIVING, b/c there aren't many people who like it and they send it on to their family or friends; who, then throw it away or pass it on to one of their enemies. I think fruitcakes get a bad rap!
I have declared this National Fruitcake Birthday Card Week. Just as a background on this, I have been known as The Fruitcake for quite some time on the SCS site. The name was made up by our sometimes not precious Anne Ryan. I have adopted the name so as to not let her know it gets under my skin. Kind of like throwing it in her face. And, I'm darned proud of my name. She called me Fruitcake; but, I decided to distinguish it somewhat with "THE FRUITCAKE".
So, here's to all the fruitcake lovers out there or just the ones who are real "Fruitcakes". Probably not many of you are anxiously awaiting fruitcake at Christmas; but now it can be given at birthdays all year long. And, you all have Anne Ryan to blame for this. Maybe I'll send this to her for her birthday.
BTW, the fruitcakes and sentiment underneath are crooked, but I decided to keep them that way since I am, of course, The Fruitcake.
Another BTW, I printed this fruitcake from a site called fotosearch. They are at www.fotosearch.com. I had to find one quickly and hope it is okay I used their fruitcake photo. They do, however, have wonderful products there if you'd like to check them out.

This is hilarious, Pamzi!! What a fun and funny card. You certainly covered all of the TGIF bases with this card--and with style and flair, might I add?? The stickles really dress up those fruitcake stands and elevate them to quite the birthday celebratory status. You earn extra bonus points for creativity on this one!

I love fruitcake!! But then most of my friends say I'm strange too. Another fruitcake sentiment I've seen (not sure where) is the phrase "No one buys a fruitcake for themselves". I'd argue with that, but I'm too busy eating fruitcake!
Love the card.

Pretty card and hilarious commentary. I had one fruitcake that I really liked and it had dates in it - and that's all - except the cake. It didn't have little green and orange things in it that you look at and wonder what they are. So, I can safely say I like at least 1 type of fruitcake and, oh wait, then there is the most illustrious past queen Pam - who calls herself "Fruitcake" and who really is very kind and sweet (and I like her and call her my friend). Awesome card!!

This is for sure a 'fruitcake' card. Hey, I love fruitcake and just don't understand the bad rap it gets. When is the party??? Do you know how to make a fruitcake? No, I didn't think so. I see you filled all the requirements for the challenge with this fun card. Three fruitcakes for a fruitcake. Perfect! LOL

Oh my gosh what a hoot you are. You know fruit cakes are really delicious if you soak them in rum or bourbon for a few days, then take them and wrap them up tight in plastic wrap and a towel and leave them ferment for a month. When you slice them up they have a nice potent flavor-after a couple of bites you can't taste them anymore!!!! lol Leave it to you to put a fruit cake on a card for a challenge. I pick you as the winner just for the "out of the box" thinking. This is just so cute and the images are wild!!!

WOW!!!! I just had to pick myself up off the floor - I laughed so hard I fell off my CHAIR!!!
This card is soooo delightful!! Love this great birthday cake stamp, which you've colored perfectly (!!), love the textures and colors, the fab flowers, and of course the punched border - AND LOVE those "crooked on purpose" fruitcakes so creatively placed by zee one-and-only FRUITCAKE herself!!!
I'm with Benzi - I love fruitcake and not sure why it has such a bad rap. Trader Joes has some of the BEST fruitcake I've every had - ooooh sooooo delish!!
Love this one Pamzi - I'll be checking my mailbox for the party invitation :-)!!

Fruitcake Birthday Card Week, eh! I have to confess I'm not a big fan of fruitcake -- another confession, I am one of those who has actually thrown out a fruitcake! I do, however, LOVE your card!

You Fruitcake, I LOVE this!!! Genuine snort-worthy! The card itself is so pretty, but I can't stop giggling long enough to tell you how much that I like it. SNORT! Such pretty colors/paper and divine border punching & texture...and all of those cakes and FRUITCAKES are just the bestest. Totally wonderful card, Pamzi.
