This last challenge for the VSN Mini has arrived! Boo hoo! I've been having SO much fun tonight! I can't wait for the Main Event on Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21!
Anyway, for this card, the last challenge was to use wood. Any way, shape or form. So, I drew my own wooden boardwalk. I used the girl and her dog, as well as the seagull from MFT's By the Seashore. I created the sunset and water by using the Tim Holtz Inssentials Sponges and some distressing inks. And a white gel pen for the ripples in the water. I masked off the girl, dog, wood, and bird in order to sponge the water. It's a one-dimensional card w/ no layers or embellishments. But, I LOVE making a scene!
I sincerely hope you all had fun this evening! And I hope to see you all back for the Main Event!
PS: There is no head because this is an MFT stamp, and I didn't feel like adding a hat! It took away from the water, and the whole "scene" that I was trying to create. Thus, we have a headless walker! Her dog is a seeing eye dog, so she's good to go! ;)

And what a fabulous scene it is. Except the no head thing is distracting me a little LOL. I had to look twice to believe that this had not layers. Wow. Amazing job.

OMGosh, you are too funny!!!!!!!!
This is a wonderful scene, and your boardwalk is absolutely perfect!
But I too am a little disturbed about our lady walking without a head. Methinks a Brittish lady must have tried to borrow her hat for the royal nuptuals and accidently got her head too! ;)

When i first saw it, I was sure she was walking in fog or sea mist. I love your scene and the sun and the water are gorgeous. So glad to have you join the mini, can't wait for the whole pirate weekend VSN!

Great job with the scene! I'd save it for Halloween for a little surprise macabre.
