Very helpful tutorial; I only had to try it 3 times to get it right and it still isn't perfect, but next time I thin will be the one!
I kept Carroll Ann's card shape, use of flowers, and her focus on hope, but pretty much changed the rest. This is a masculine sympathy card - another person at work lost a loved one. This is for David who is the sweetest man - he helps all the ladies at work when their tires are flat, or their car won't start, or they run out of gas. We call him the parking lot angel. He also sends a Good Morning message to everyone at work every morning - he sends each one individually and arrives early so he can do it. He lost an Aunt that he was very close too. He actually pretends he likes my cards when I bring them to work so I had to make him something special.
I paper-pieced my bird having him break out of the oval - I hope that counts. I had intended to layer on his wings but totally forgot.

Woot Woot look at this beauty. How totally awesome this is with this enchanting paper. I do not believe David is pretending to like your cards....Men do like cards. I recently gave a card to one of the guys I work with because he lost his grandmother. He made a special stop to my office to tell me how beautiful it was. He called his wife and said "you won't believe this". He told me he took a picture of it with his phone and sent it to her!!! lol This is just gorgeous. I am sure it will be treasured!

Gorgeous!!! I just adore this bird!! It reminds me of the little bird couple that have been hanging out by my new birdhouse. They went in and looked around, I told them that the rent's cheap (parden the pun!!!) so hopefully, they'll be back!! Stunning flowers too, and I love your florals!! From this view it looks like you did an excellent job on the case!!

Gorgeous card. You're lucky it was only three tries! I attempted it five times and only finished it with the help of email and a friend talking me through it! Great job!

So very gorgeous! Like everyone else, I love the bird coming through the oval! The colors, flowers and DP are all awesome. I'm sure your friend at work will love this card - just because it was specially made for him! There are those who don't or won't appreciate the work that goes into a card, but your friend doesn't sound like one of those people!

I love that lil bird peekin' thru the paper, and your beautiful layout too! You done CA proud! (Do I spy some "ghetto blooms" there?) Lol! Love your work- your heart is all over it!
