Hello! This card was made for today's Ways to Use it Challenge: Flower Frenzy. It also fits this week's Stampin' B's Challenge to stamp a background-NO designer Papers.
Well...this week has been VERY busy for us. We've bee working long hours, (hey, who's complaining???), and I really need a break, as my broken tooth is STILL a pain in the ....MOUTH! LOL So, after whining like a baby in my office, my secretary called Mark and told him she was quitting if I didn't go home! Seriously! She came into my office with my purse, warm coffee, a bag of product samples and a stack of paperwork! She gave me that "you better go, NOW!" look, and I got up, grabbed the stuff and went out to the warehouse to wait for Mark! (Don't mess with the secretary OR the bookkeeper...They can BOTH make you wish you had stayed in bed!)
I got home and started to look through the product samples and found these awesome fabric leaves! LOVE these! They are really pretty IRL. As soon as I checked the challenge, I realized I needed to use my big sunflower for this one, (to go with the new leaves! Got to love when a challenge SCREAMS that I use something new! LOL)
I stamped the image in Palette Noir and colored in with Copics. Next, I cut it out and sponged on Adirondack's Espresso. I started to make a really simple card and desided to CASE a card that I had made quite a while back for an Inspriation Challenge. I'm pretty sure this is even the same sentiment! LOL
I sponged the background with Palette Inks: Reflection Blue, Prussian Blue and Noir. Next, I stamped in the flourishes to fit today's Stampin' B's Challenge of stamping a background. I grabbed my bag of samples and found this new THICK twine. Wow! LOVE the "country/manly" feel of this! And, it really fits with the "shabby" leaves!
To finish off, I added Flower Soft to the center of the Sunflower...(just in the "black" areas....)
What do you think?
Finished card size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Faith, those fabric leaves are really beautiful. They go so perfectly with your sunflower.
