I saw a thread the other day on ways to save money by making do or making your own and one tip was to use the inside of security envelopes as dp. Those bills ought to be good for something! So, the black and white patterned paper is re-used from an envelope and I used the same paper, stamped it with the Dotted bg stamp in Real Red and made a rolled flower with it. Since I was on the re-use it theme, I decided to try to make this card using things I'd already punched or stamped or had lying around to re-purpose! The only thing I made specifically for the card were the Top Note pieces (I hand cut the "dp" down to a smaller size). If I hadn't been using all desk-top items I would have stamped my sentiment from Cute by the Inch instead of from the retired set. The embossed piece was a piece of Very Vanilla that I'd sprayed with an antiquing ink spray and the twine came from a loaf of bread that someone brought me as a hostess gift!

Way to recycle! I have a stack of security envelopes saved to use for iris fold designs, but i never thought of using them like this on the front of a card!

Another creative card using things rather than tossing out. Love it! Good idea about the envelopes. I'm all for recycling things for stamping. Nicely done! TFS

Oh and when I think of all the things I have tossed out - shame on me. Your card is wonderful, and I love the rolled flower. Definitely good pointers for going "green". TFS
