The current challenge on ODBD is Frame It.
I wanted to make something that would look like an old varnished wood frame - but by the time I'd added EP to my faux wood, a lot of the wood detail got lost. A bit like an old frame, I suppose ;-).
Base is 5 3/4" square, paper is Basic Grey Eva, with the edges sponged with brown. I scored along the bottom - twice on the wrong side of the card and once on the right side to make a slight groove to take the twine.
At the top I added a piece of WRMK hardware with a pearl brad, and fastened the twine over it.
Frame is faux wood, cut with Labels 8, embossed with Textiles ef and then embossed with three layers of EP.
For the *picture* I sponged some white card with Stormy Sky distress ink, and then stamped the grass from Inspired by Nature with a couple of shaded of green. I stamped a couple of little butterflies, coloured them with a marker and added some flowers to the grasses. I stamped the verse from Scripture Series 1 on vellum with Brilliance Black and embossed with black EP. I laid it over the background and cut the two of them out together, and then fastened them behind the frame.
Busy today, I'll fill in the fields properly tomorrow when I have a chance to get back online, and replace with a better photo after I re-sponge the edges. It was late last night, and the glossy frame meant I had to keep direct light off it .
