Sometimes when an idea pops in your head, you just have to fun with it. I was thinking about this image and how my Grandmother used to have these fragrant Lilly of the Valley flowers growing in her garden. I think of Lilly of the Valley as a "vintage" flower so I kind of went with a vintage feel and look on this card.
I did the ribbon treatment by laying down a row of 1/2" wide red line tape and just threaded the ribbon on the card like this. No sewing involved and it was very easy to do-I love the lacy feminine feel of it. The scalloped lace is a Martha Stewart Punch.
I used the fancy tags die for the black die cuts behind the large inverted scallop squares nestabilites from spellbinders. The background paper was embossed with a basket weave folder. I sponged the edges with Sage distress ink and frosted the edges with stickles. Sage rhinestones were added for embellishment and I used the Tim Holtz distressing tool to do the edges.
The image is from Fred She Said and I colored it with Copic markers. I am hoping to take some classes in the fall but I really love coloring with these markers.
Thanks for stopping by today. I wish you a joyful and happy day!

Oh my goodness Carol. You may say that ribbon treatment is easy to make; but, yikes. It's a stunner as is the rest of your card. The lillies of the valley are beautiful - my BFF loves them. Your borders, nesties, sparkle and details are all beyond imagination, except yours that is cuz you always come up with the most imaginative creations. Did that make sense???? GORGEOUS!

I would love to peek inside your head and watch one of these beauties come to life - this is so beautiful, so stunning, so you, Bearzi. I think I could seriously spot your card a mile away - they are like magnets to me. I get the same feel looking at your cards that I do looking at the slot machine screen (did I type that? Oh well, bless my heart - I only play the nickel machines and only a few times a year - I promise - but it is so fun). Hugz to you - can't wait until the next one.

I love lily of the valley too, and it also reminds me of my grandma. Your image is really beautiful. I love what you have done with the ribbon, and think that it goes beautifully with the lily of the valley. Such a feminine and lovely vintage card.

Carol - this is beyond gorgeous!! I love how beautifully you can layer nesties and shapes, love that fab ribbon treatment (and it does sound easy, still not sure I could do it LOL), love the colors, the wonderfully colored flower, and also love the bit of glitz. What a gorgeous creation!

Carol this did turn out beautifully - great idea with this ribbon (of course I'll have to CASE that). Gorgeous image (my birth month flower, so always one of my favorites) and your coloring is wonderful. Love the nesties and that punched border. Really beautiful card, as always. TFS.
