This is for FS215 and mbrcutie25 aka Mary Beth is our featured stamper today. Congratulations, Mary BEth! You have a wonderful gallery and I had a hard time picking out a favorite. I finally settled on your Lazy Boy Recliner. Lazy Boy Recliner by mbrcutie25 at Splitcoaststampers I kept the same basic layout for my card, changed the image but created a frame using the same Nestabilities Curved Rectangle instead of using it to shape my image layer. I added some flowers for embellishment instead of using ribbon.
I stamped the image on watercolor paper and heat set. I painted plain water all aound the image and washed the whole sky area and then applied an aqua wash for the sky coloring. The clear water wash around the image creates a sort of barrier and holds the color wash in and keeps it from running into the image where you don't want it. I did the same technique to apply the green ground area. The image was painted with a brush using water mixed with reinker. The frame was attached over the scene with mountint tape and the flowers and foliage was the finishing touch. I couldn't reisist popping up one little flower over the tulip head and stem that is on the image. The flower centers were filled with a touch of yellow stickle glitter and the glasses frames were filled with Clear Accent to give the appearance of glass...but you can't really see it in the photo.

Oh, Kitty, this image is just beyond adorable - it's darn cute for anyone, but for someone who's been an avid reader and book lover since childhood, this just grabs me!!! Sooooo pretty!
