I finally had time to make a card for this week's Try a New Technique (TLC316 Let's Make a Trellis). Joan gave a great "how to" list. You can see the challenge and the instructions here:
I used Nesties Label 4 for my cut-out, and then made a frame from the two largest nesties together. I used CB Swiss Dots folder, and cut some thin white strips to made the trellis. The DP is from Paper Studio, and the white and burgundy cardstock is from Bazzill. I added some silk flowers and a brad both from Spare Parts. I punched out 4 butterflies. Two in burgundy, and two in pink so that there appears to be a shadow behind the butterflies. I added two burgundy rhinestones to each butterfly
I am disappointed in my upload. In order for the swiss dots to show up, I had to adjust the highlights. In doing so, it distorted the color of the flowers and butterflies. They are all variations of pink, but the smallest flower on top almost looks peach.
I LOVE this technique - and I will definitely use it again in the future. I am thinking of creating one more just like this and giving it to my Mother and my Dear MIL for Mother's Day. I really think they will like it.
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look; and I always appreciate your comments.
