I made a gift for my mom this weekend, and I wanted to share it with you.
First, credit where credit is due:
>I learned how to construct the 3D Heart item from Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition
>I learned the flower technique from Andrea WalfordÂ’s Paper Crafting Library
IÂ’ve paid to be a member to access both libraries (if you will), and for this one creation alone I feel as though the price of admission was worth it!
This is a gift for my mom. It is sortof like an advent calendar. It is a monthly gift wheel. Each month, starting in her birthday month of March, she is to pull one tab. She pulls the tab out, and there will be a letter in the little envelope. She goes to the gift basket, and selects a corresponding gift which has that letter.
The ASSORTMENT shows the assortment of the gifts, plus the 3D Heart Item.
GIVE ME AN A shows a close-up of a few of the gifts. If the corresponding month has an I in it, she can pick from one of the two gifts that have an I. Which one would you pick? (The one that looks like an ice-cream cone has a $5 bill and ticket which encourages her to go treat herself to an ice cream. Not that she needs encouragement
HEART SHAPED WORLD shows the outside of the gift, all closed up.
JANUARY THROUGH DECEMBER shows the inside of the gift. I modified the instructions from Connie and Mary quite a bit for the inside wording etc.
MARCH shows a close-up of the one month. Inside the little envelope (recognize that SU! punch? I finally found a good use for it!
MARCH 2 shows that she would select gift A. I learned that flower from Andrea. Inside the March gift is a check for her to go to PenneyÂ’s and buy herself an Alfred Dunner article of clothing. She loves Alfred Dunner and she is losing weight so needs new clothes.
Enjoy

Very interesting idea, Lela! But I wonder if your mom (or any recipient) could be patient enough to wait the whole year to open all the gifts?! What a treasure!
