Kim's challenge today was polka dots. I went all over the place with this card. First of all I made several ribbon roses with polka-dot organza ribbon. Then I stamped and coloured my image (RubberNecker Belle, watercolour paper, distress inks and H2Os for the shawl. Then I coloured some thin watercolour paper red to match the shawl - and smudged my background. Out with the scissors to cut Belle out - and believe me, the whole reason I have light watercolour paper is to use when I'm cutting out, and this was my heavy card - arghh. So it was back to the drawing board design-wise.
Black A2 base. Spotted paper is October Afternoon Campfire, stitched with cream thread. The last thing I sewed was some badges onto DH's leathers and the machine was a bit wonky, plus even though I had it in my hands last night I couldn't find my bobbin of clear thread.
Having cut Belle out I needed a background, so I stamped Rubber Romance's Boulangerie onto some Basic Grey paper with Pumice Stone, layered it on black card and stitched it too. Used that thin red watercolour paper to cut the vintage corners and added them on with a little pearl. I see I forgot to colour Belle's bangles gold, I'll fix that now.
And I do indeed have a dress not unlike this except that it buttons down the front; I made it to wear to my sister's wedding and still love it.

I remember my Mom having a dress like this but my Dad made her wear a sweater with it - so help me, he didn't want her shoulders to be bare! This is beautiful!
