Last night I made this this card Neutral Birthday by corysnana1 at Splitcoaststampers for the IC273 challenge. I loved the tone on tone. I wanted to make another card using some of the same elements, but try to make it a bit different. I was stuck for what to do - my white craft ink pad was yucky and I couldn't get the whole background inked well. I was about to give up for the night when I spotted an idea in Corie's gallery with this card: WT278 by coriefoster at Splitcoaststampers ~ use BLACK and make it less monochromatic!! Thanks, Corie! I love the back behind your layers. I added layers to my card, made the top part all black. I used black rhinestones like Corie, but made them horizontal, used the tulip SU embossing folder as a border for the hydrangea, shaded with Copics, and added buttons on a ribbon scrap on the sides to hide the transition from the black to the heat embossed section. Thanks for the inspiration and the great gallery, Corie.
