These are: Journal/log book with pen, Receipt container, and calendar. I made this for a friend who's name I drew. She didn't look too thrilled when she opened the box and she was they only one who didn't really show the others what she got, she even put it back in the box and closed it. I was heart broken. My husband said I put my whole heart into everything I make and I guess that is why it hurts when someone isn't as thrilled as I am.

well I for one would have been THRILLED to get this for a gift! So send me her name and I'll be glad to take it 'off her hands'!!!! ;)
but really, those who don't stamp or do any kind of crafting don't have any clue at all how much of ourselves we put into our little 'projects'. They become a reflection of ourselves. Know that you did put your heart and soul into it and it is truly beautiful!
Those of us here at SCS can see that you have a very lovely soul! In fact, it's stunning!

I would have been delighted with them. They are beautiful! Maybe she just put them away without showing them around so the rest of the people weren't overcome with envy!

Oh my goodness!! I, too, would have been thrilled! These are absolutely gorgeous!! Don't you worry about a thing--it's her loss if she can't appreciate art!!
Wow! I love your work. I get that reaction sometimes too. However, I always make something for everyone every year. Most people have so many "things" already, you don't know what to buy them. With a homemade creation, I feel that LOVE is wrapped up in every gift. Some people have no taste. Just know that you did your best and that you have nothing to be ashamed of in giving that gift. It is beautiful.

Your set is beautiful! Some people don't recognize true beauty and love--It is a sign of the times we live in--I'd be delighted to receive such a time consuming and thoughtful gift!
What a lovely, lovely gift! And, as we crafters know, there is love in every detail. And somehow, someway, that love will come back to bless you. You have already blessed us by sharing. So we will take your beautiful ideas and pass them on. The ripples of love are only beginning to spread.
I love the verse you put on the notebook. And the receipt jar is a great idea.
You must be a very special person, a true friend to many.

Some of my family you can tell really don't care for stamped stuff, but after they came over to make some Christmas items a few weeks ago, I think they now have a different tune as they saw all that goes into my projects. One sister loves everything, but you can tell that one of the others who I'm very close to just doesn't seem to enjoy the gifts like she use to. I made her an entire card box complete with cards, calendar, address section and dividers for all the different occaisions that she would send cards and you could just tell that she wasn't thrilled. I of course was a little hurt because I worked a very long time on this project, but I didn't say anything.
Guess what she's getting for Christmas?? Yup, all hand stamped/ crafted stuff. What can I say? That's who I am and what I do.

Oh and by the way, your gift set is lovely. Wish I had more time, I'd make some of these as well. Would love to see the expression on her face after opening something as nice as this!

She should be ashamed of herself... a gift comes from the heart. I bet she would have preferred something you picked up at the local gas/foodmart... I know next time she might prefer those rose panties they sell... you know the ones shaped like a rose.... lol
