This card is for a friendÂ’s Wedding next weekend.
The Wedding invitation DP was bright pearlescent turquoise...so I incorporated the DP into the new Wedding Card...yes sacrilege to chop it up, I know...but the card will match the wedding theme colors and probably the bridesmaids dresses, and so itÂ’s sort of a tribute to the Brides color choices.
You can see the turquoise DP peeking thru the oval diecut, with a small extra touch in the layered flower. All the rest of the card is kept bridal white.
Emboss a panel of cardstock, die cut the centre oval. Secure a panel of DP (from wedding invitation) under the die cut. Adhere whole panel to card front with 3D foam dots.
Stamp & emboss sentiment, die cut into a scalloped oval, run a sparkly gel pen around the edge. Add a rhinestone to the i. Carefully position scalloped oval over the DP on the card front, adhere.
Adhere pearl strip around the oval, clipping when necessary on the curves.
Flower: die cut sunflower, use sparkly pen to outline embossing on petals, apply smooch to embossing. Layer a few punched flowers, including one from DP, outline with sparkly gel pen. Add ribbon rosette to the centre. Adhere layered flower to card front. Poked in a few seed pearls to fill a ‘white-space gap’.

Ooooh, pretty, pretty! I, too, use parts of graduation and wedding invitations that I receive to make cards for those celebrating. I think it makes it more personal.
