Mmmmm....the warmth of summer sounds so good right now, Lydia! It's been snowing here for days.
Summer makes me think of walking barefoot in the fuzzy wuzzy green grass, and green, therefore, is a warm color to me, as is red. I started coloring this image on Tuesday for Betty's color challenge, but I never got back to it, so I'm combining Betty's and Lydia's challenges. Betty's colors were Elegant Eggplant, Riding Hood Red, and Soft Suede.
I got the idea to color my white Fun Flock with Garden Green (SU) and Lettuce (Adirondack) reinkers for the grass around Ralph's feet. At first, the Fun Flock and reinkers resisted blending with one another as the reinkers just balled up and rolled off the Fun Flock. However, I used a popsicle stick to stir up the ink and Fun Flock together and they finally got the message that I wasn't giving up! The two different colors of ink helped to provide shading of the grass.
Ralph's clothing was colored with a watercolor brush and reinkers. His skin and hair with Copic markers. His golf bag was paper-pieced with Elegant Eggplant dp.

CUTE card! Poor Ralph looks a bit lost, maybe he lost his golf ball?
Oh wait, look at his hand, yes, I believe he is reaching for another ball, so it's definitely a mulligan!

I love the expression on Ralph's face!! He reminds me of my son, the avid golfer, who has been known to toss a club in exasperation once or twice!! Great job with coloring the "grass"!

p.s - it might sound as if I thought your grass doesn't look well cared for. Actually I thought it was brilliant - made me wish I could reach into the screen and feel it. The two colours of green make it look so realistic.

This image just cracks me up! I just know those are polyester pants - lol - and his expression says it all. Your fuzzy grass is awesome!
