I've been wanting to do one of these for a long time but thought they were too complicated. Finally took the plunge when I needed a very special birthday card for someone who is celebrating an 80th birthday this month. I made 8 candles - one for each decade! - using DSP from the retired Tea Party collection sponged with Concord Grape and embellished with pearls. The flames are made using the Two-Step Bird Punch, then sponged with Daffoldil Delight. The sentiment on the front is from Whimsical Words. On the middle section I used Birthday Bakery and Messages for Mom. The base is Basic Grey. There is a layer of Certainly Celery under the Whisper White flap in the center. These are not as difficult as I thought! I did have to search a bit to find measurements for using 8 1/2 X 11 CS as most of the samples I've seen use 12 X 12. And I found them right here in the Resources section!
