Stef and Biggan fine IC site. BUT I must confess, with these old eyes of mine, I had a little trouble actually seeing the tiny pictures even when enlarged. So I sort of cheated here. I mainly went with the colors. Came up with this layout by cas'ing this card of jovialjudi, who just happens to be the new QFTD! Whoo Hoo Judy!.......my card.....
I am late to the QFTD challenge because I couldn't find it! Thanks to Peggy, aka marilynprestonn, for linking all the info on her card yesterday, I was able to then find it. Would sure have hated to miss this gallery. Judi makes some wonderful and just plain gorgeous cards. What an amazing watercolor-er too! I am in awe of her talent. You wouldn't happen to live close by would you????!!!
Quickly, I made a strip of misc. scraps on mosaic tape to replace her ribbon treatment. The top flower is from a punch which I paper pierced the edges then did a blanket stitch using scrapper's floss. Stippled the color on and added the acrylic dots with a stylus.
The bottom flower is a new die cut I just got today after signing up for a Lockhart class. Funny story, was talking to a lady there, asked her if she ever heard of SCS, said she goes on daily but doesn't post. Told her who I was AND SHE KNEW MY WORK! WOWZERS, what a great feeling! Just had to share that.
Made an alcohol bg and doodled the edges. Put everything together adding a new heart embellishment and Wal-la.....done. Sorry to go and on must be the caffeine! hehe Have a great weekend!......TFL :0)

Beautiful. The side panel on your card reminds me of a gorgeous quilt that my MIL has at her house. It is full of rich jewel tones, and gold thread, and that is exactly what I thought of when I looked at this fab card!

Yep, it's in the challenges with the other ones now, how cool!
Cathy, precious flower, I love the stitching around it and the paper mosaic too. Such lovely papers. This style is very different from Judi's but we can see the sketch in it, but your essence. Amazing! TFS and for looking for the challenge. LOL

Wow, Cathy, that "strip mosaic" or quilted look down the side is amazing!! Looks perfect on that alcohol BG, (not the drinking alcohol type - the rubbing alcohol type - heheheh) that gave you a nice subtle background of color on which to put that gorgeous layered flower - you never cease to amaze!! hugs!

Holy smokes...I was tired after reading all the work you put into this beauty. Your strip of paper pieces is awesome and just love your bg and beautiful flower.

It took me a while to get past the flower Cathy. What a beauty! Seriously, I'm like a magpie, I see something I like and concentrate on it to the exclusion of everything else. I do also like the quilted strip.

After talking to you today, I checked your gallery again. You are truly amazing. I love the bright colors in this card and the mosaic technique. This is my first comment -- ever. You are an inspiration.
