The challenge was to make a glass ornament using acetate. Well I didnÂ’t have an ornament; I donÂ’t want anymore, so a bottle will have to do. My father in law was a pack rat and this is one of the items I saved in his memory because I am also a pack rat.
To color the scene I stamped with black Staz On, let dry and fill in small areas at a time with Diamond Glaze (itÂ’s the same as Chrystal Effects). I put a small amount of ink on scarp acetate and with a straight pin picked up the ink and mixed it in the DG until the correct color was achieved. The snow is just DG and glitter. The sky is DG and ink with glitter just sprinkled on with my fingers.
Tip: donÂ’t put the ink in your lid because itÂ’s going to mix with DG/CE and leave a lumpy mess behind. It takes less than a drop.
Since I thought the scene needed a more solid backdrop I put the cellophane you use in gifts behind the acetate. The flowers are a Christmas ornament from my tree that is tied on and arranged. The glittery fru-fru stuff is something I picked up in a small bag years ago and itÂ’s like the bunny that just keeps going and going and going. I love that stuff and have never seen it again in such a fine shred. No name on the bag.
