Hello, hello. Hope you all are doing just great. I've been dealing with an toothache (my first one EVER!) over the past several days, but I've seen my dentist and he is going to fix everything by next Tuesday. I need a root canal. Oh, jezz... Wish me luck. I hate having work done on my teeth although I visit a dentist at least twice a year, I just don't like my teeth bothered with. I think I was traumatize by all the novacaine shots I got as a child.
Ok. Now this is my take on another vintage card. You know, its really not that easy. I tried to stay within the "bountries" of what I think is vintage and believe you me, it takes some work to create a facsimile of a card that appears to be from years ago.
So here are a couple of card details. I stamped my image onto watercolor paper and colored it with Tombow markers. I cut it out into a shape I was happy with. I then balled up the paper to age it. Watercolor paper is pretty durable so I had to ball it up several times. Then I ironed it to flatten it out. Of course it keep its wrinkles but it presents better and you can see the image more clearly. I used scissors to rough up (distress) the edges. Next I sponged the edges with Colorbox ink. That's about it for the main image. The back panel was also distressed and sponged. And I stamped it with SU's Baroque Motifs for some flair.
I added a bow made from seam binding and some paper flowers. That's about it. Oh, oh...I colored a Zva pearl flourish with Copic markers to give the card a little something. Ok, now that's about it. Everything else is pretty standard.
Hope you like. TFL!
Oh, here is a late detail that I forgot to mention...the timepiece does not come with "hands". I took that brad that you see and flatten the legs to use as clock hands. It worked out pretty well, don't you think?
