Here is my last card for the year end countdown challenges using the rubber band background technique, which I had never tried before, over at Stamp TV: http://stamptv.ning.com/ . I could not find an acrylic brayer in any of the local stores and didn't think I had time to order one, so I improvised with, of all things, am empty cardboard TP roll. I had to roll with one hand and depress inside the roll with the other but I think it came out nicely anyway if I do say so myself. I used Artichoke, Old Olive and Certainly Celery for the background. I thought the colors and pattern would remind me of eucalyptus that the koalas eat. I stamped this little guy and colored him in with Prismacolor pencils and attached some buttons and a sentiment.
This card also fulfills the requirements of the following challenges:
Since I used a new stamp set and a new technique for the first time:
Speedy Cat's Friends Challenge 36 to use something new: http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/ , and Paper Sundaes 50 Challenge to use something new: http://papersundaes.blogspot.com/ .
Thank you for encouraging me to try a new technique Gina. And thank you to everyone who takes the time to look at my card. Happy Healthy New Year Everybody!!
