We came down to the cabin on Saturday evening, (yeah, I got to play with my toys!!) But I didn't get to play full time :( I spent Sunday & Monday making jerky from ground deer meat, and some fudge....what a combination. I make fudge for the family and some of the friends at Christmas. I made white chocolate w/pecans, chocolate w/walnuts, chocolate w/peanut butter chips, chocolate with coconut, and tiger butter. Also made some truffles, come are rolled in confectioners sugar, cocoa and colored sugar, the chopped nuts didn't want to stick so I gave up on them. I got to play a little entering some Gina K challenges. But today decided to make some gift tags for the fudge. I saw a video over at Stamp TV on how to make regular paper look like metallic paper and tried it out. Couldn't decide how I wanted to attach them, until I ran across some bags in my stash. I will upload pictures of those also. I decided to use the Punch Pals set, until today it had never even been mounted, I only mounted the ones today I was using. I tried embossing with gold & white, silver & white, silver & clear and decided I liked the silver & white the best. So I stamped with versamark, embossed (silver outide ring, white for the snowflake ring, sponged tumbled glass distress then punched out the first layer. Had to resort to my circle & scalloped cirlcle nesties for the other two layers. The back scalloped circle is the one I tried the embossing to make it look like metallic paper, it worked like a charm. I don't know why I bothered, I have metallic paper, I guess I'd rather hoard it. But it was fun trying something new. Then I taped them all together. I figure these can be recycled too, as I cut apart one stamp in the set and instead of to and from I stamped "from our house to yours" on the back. Oh, I didn't mention I hate wrapping presents, my idea is to slap the fudge in a ziploc bag, it's not like it's a great big surprise. Thanks for looking and any comments.
