am having such a good time doing these challenges, at least when things go right I am I decided to make another card, just for the heck of it, it really wasn't gonna be for a challenge, but suddenly I was brain dead. For a change, I decided to look at dp first, usually I pick a stamp set first, then decide what paper I want to use. I had picked out a different paper and card base, trying to decide what to stamp, when I picked up a Martha Stewart Holidays mat pad, flipped through it, saw this raised snowflake paper, and that was the end of the other stuff I had picked out. An idea struck me like lightning, and of course it's another card for this challenge.
We keep hearing about all the snow we are supposed to get, but it hasn't snowed here yet. Driving in the little bit that hit last week was really scary. I was sliding, when I was at a standstill. I know some states have already gotten more than their fair share, and this card is not to make fun of anyone in particular, but.....have you ever seen those people after it snows, driving down the road with snow piled up all over the car, and only a little area to look out the window? This is for those people.
I stamped the main image using the Gina K You Know You're Old When set with Onyx Black Versafine, colored with Prisma-colored Pencils & goo gone, SU markers, silver metallic pen and clear glitter pen. I made a mask and placed it over the image to sponge Stormy Sky around it. Cut out the image and dark gray layer with Nestie Ovals. Then I used a Snow Writer to add the snow, and added Glamour Dust for sparkle. I covered up the neat stuff I had worked on, like making the fingers on the steering wheel red, cause I couldn't figure out how to do white knuckles in such a small area. I had colored the windshield and windows with a clear glitter pen to resemble ice. For the sentiment I used one from the Gina K Life Is Good set by Theresa Momber. It seemed to fit, since I was thinking of those people that drive with their snow-covered cars. Thanks for looking and any comments.
