I was not happy with the card I posted yesterday, so I sat down to start a new one. I chose the candle stamp from the Clear Dollar stamp set Designer Label Celebrations, colored the candles with SU markers, then stamped the Happy in the center from same stamp set with Faded Jeans Distress Ink, and cut out with the Clear Dollar Stamps Designer Dies. Had a new SU Sweet Treat Cup and a new card, getting ready to add a piece of dp, with the other card laying right there to look at, when I layed the candle piece on the other card, I liked it over the old label. So I figured what the heck, I'll try and take the backing off the cup, so more Diamond Dust could be added. I managed to do this without tearing the card up. I did not have a punch the correct size for the dp yesterday, and used a circle nestie, that was just a tad to big, there was white showing around the cup so I went through all my spellbinders, sizzix, and cuttlebug dies and came up with nothing. I even tried using the circle nestie inside a scalloped nestie, but it just didn't cover since the circle was a tad to big to begin with. I looked through a various assortment of ribbon, twine, to wrap around the cup, but didn't like any of that either, since I already had a ribbon on the card. Finally decided to cover the exposed white with a Snow Writer, sprinkled Glamour Dust on the snow, used a Quickie Glue Pen went over the candles and sprinkled with Glamour Dust. The dp already had sparkle to it, I like this better than the way it was, and didn't have to start all over again. This will be my Mother's 75th birthday card. Thanks for looking and any comments.
