Today is round four of the Dueling Darlings monthly duel between team Divas and team Dazzlers. This month the theme is Thanksgiving and Gratitude. Our hostess Barb for the Divas sent our team this fabulous card kit highlighted by this lovely Horn of Plenty image by Whipper Snapper along with a beautiful sentiment by stampabilities that is not visible on the front of my card. This kit was packed with so many treasures: 4 sheets of Indian Summer d.p. by Basic Grey, gorgeous ribbons one of which was a lovely fiber, 5 felt leaves of various colors, orange gems, colored buttons and colored brads. Wow! What riches to choose from!!
I chose to use a variation of a sketch from Taylored Expressions (TESC133) for my layout. And used all 4 sheets of the d.p., one of which I bordered punched with my Martha Stewart maple leaf punches. Through this punched layer I threaded the multi colored sheer ribbon. My image was colored with copic markers, die cut with Nestibilities labels 4 die, sponged with Melon Mambo ink and edged with a leaf green copic marker. The felt leaves were strung on the fiber ribbon and three buttons from the kit were adhered to the bottom of the card.
We were asked to think of one person we were truly grateful for this year as we were creating our cards. This was a difficult task for me to single out one person because there are so many I am grateful for and many of them my dear friends here on SCS. What finally stood out for me was my dear, sweet sister-in-law who was so generous with her time, her treasure and her home in assisting my DH and me during my DH's illness this year. This card is dedicated to her for all the love and care she has given us over the years!
