WOW! I'm completely humbled. What a thrill to be joining this wonderful DIRTY group of talents! Thank you Lydia for inviting me & to the fabulous Splitcoaststampers community for this special opportunity.
My name is America Kuhn; I am a US Army Veteran, a Military Wife to an Active Duty US ARMY Officer, and a SAHM to 4 amazing children. Our home is that where the ARMY takes us around the globe -- moving across the country or across the oceans. Wherever we end up, we somehow manage to make a little crafting corner for me. When Im not busy with our kid's schools, their homework, sports, and endless activities, I enjoy creating with Papercrafts. Card Making has become a passion. It rewarding and more like a therapeutic hobby that has connected me to wonderful people along the way!
My papercrafting journey began in 2002, when I was introduced to scrapbooking by another military mom while we were stationed in Germany. The idea of scrapbooks that came together to tell a story from start to finish was fascinating. By that next year I discovered rubber stamps while shopping for scrapbooking products. We were now stationed in Hawaii and it was right there and then that I fell in love with the idea of *rubber stamps* for cards. (Now have a heavy stamp collection that moves with us to all duty stations.) ha!
I discovered SplitCoastStampers in 2008 while surfing the Internet and was immediately hooked. Soon after, I joined and quickly became a FAN Club Member. After gaining courage and developing some basic stamping skills, I finally got brave enough to upload my first card. LOL! After lots of encouragement from my biggest fan, (DH), I finally applied for small parts on Design Teams and was lucky enough to get picked up and joined a few fabulous Teams as Guest. I am so grateful for those amazing experiences that have taught me so much.
Im excited to be here and cant wait to share my work. Thank you Splitcoaststampers community for being the BEST inspirational place! :) These next six months as a Dirty Dozen Girl promise to be challenging, but also very exciting. I look forward to giving back to this amazing community. :)
