I haven't been inspired much lately, but today's sketch challenge just grabbed me. My sister-in-law's bday is next week, so I thought it would be the perfect excuse to make a card after seeing the great sketch challenge.
I kind of made this card a little backwards. I actually put the card together before even stamping. Wierd huh? Anyway, so the first thing I did was pick my stamp set. Watercolor trio. I actually planned on another set, but this one kind of picked me, so I went with it.
I grabbed my new scallopped oval nesties and cut the white piece. Then I went up in size and used Pear Pizazz as the mat.
I found the perfect size of pink pirouette, so I ran it thru the cb, then found I had a piece of certain celery that was just enough bigger that it would work.
I then figured out my base color which is perfect plum. When I layed everything out it seemed a tad bit dark, so I grabbed my SU Cottage Grove DSP and cut a piece to brighten it up. I layed it down, then started to lay the pink and celery, when I decided to add a piece or opaque ribbon. I tied it, then used a glue dot to secure it.
I literally had the whole card assembled before stamping my image. I used perfect plum, then I stamped off twice. Then I mounted it. I thought it could use a bit more, so I punched some butterflies in pretty in pink.
I decided I wanted the senitment on the outside, so I used a sisix die with my cb cut out the tag, then stamped the sentiment in perfect plum.
There ya have it, my backward thinking for the day! TFL and enjoy your day!!!
