I have already played the SCS Inspiration Challenge IC253 - see this link for the deets: IC253 ~ John Lewis Department Stores {10-09-10} by SmilynStef at Splitcoaststampers but I was so inspired by the John Lewis Department Store, that I made another card. This card was inspired by this red and white Christmas ornament: http://www.johnlewis.com/173142/Style.aspx I really liked the red & white combo and the red border, which made me think of my new Eyelet Square Nesties and how I could layer some red cs underneath to make a border. I did end up adding the green cs layer and the green ribbon - the card ended up needing a little "pizazz". Anyhoo......
The image was coloured with OMS and Prismacolor + Derwent Coloursoft pencils. I added some Polar White FlowerSoft 'cos I LOVE lots of texture on my cards!! The main panel is up on 1mm mounts (dimensionals).
The white background embossing is my new Cuttlebug Season's Greetings ef - note my cs was slightly smaller than the folder so not all the embossing is there.
The ribbon was attached in 2 separate elements and the bow itself was made with my Bow Easy. The ribbon colour is actually much brighter IRL and is more of an Irish Green; it's difficult to photograph sparkly things and this was about the best I could do. The snowflake was diecut using my CB and CB Snowflake #2 die set. Lastly, I added a Kaiser red pearl to the snowflake and a Kaiser green pearl either side of the sentiment.
