My niece is going to China on an aid internship for a few months so I decorated the cover of a small photo album for her to take.
I used a tag punch on white card to get the small tags for her name, which I stamped with Black StazOn and coloured with SU! Sage Shadow, then I stamped a shipping tag with a script stamp and aged it. These were the two main elements. I photocopied coins, cut them out and wiped them with dye ink to look like old metal. I stamped and coloured a compass and cut it out. I used a tape transfer technique to get the definition of 'journey' off the page of an old dictionary. Lastly I photocopied an old passport of mine and used tape transfer to get the visa stamps off the photocopy.
Note: You need a laser copier if using photocopies for the tape transfer as ink from an ink-jet copier doesn't transfer well.
To do the tape transfer you need clear parcel tape. Stick the tape over words or image you want and cut to size. Soak for 5-10 minutes in water and the paper will peel away leaving the ink attached to the tape. You may need to rub to get the last of the paper off. When dry the tape regains its stickiness so be careful how you handle it or you will permanently embellish something you didn't mean to!

What a super album cover Steph! I really love the whole collage theme and the tape transfer idea and how you have utilized on the cover. I bet Eleanor just loved it too!
