My SIL asked me to make a special card for my nephew. He watches a children's show that shows birthday cards on the show for those that are chosen. She knows I'm an avid stamper so we worked on this together. The card is L A R G E! It is the size of a full sheet of card stock. We had to incorporate some of the characters on the network- Caiyu, Thomas the Train and Chica. The characters were printed out from the web-site and colored w markers.
There are no stamps used in the making of this card but it was a real challenge to think this big. The rolling hills and mountains were cut w my wavy cutter and sponged. The top layer was torn and sponged. The sentiment was meant to look like the smoke coming out of the train. Words are computer-generated. We made a sort of binding w blue cs to join the card stock so that it would open and still look nice.
The card will be mailed away to the network and not returned, so the photos will be all we have left. If little Collin sees this and hears his name on national tv it will be worth it. Let's just say I am definitely in the good graces of my SIL now!
EDIT: Yesterday was the birthday and sure enough, this card was chosen first on the show on national tv, calling out my nephew's name. He got a birthday wish from his favorite tv show. An Aunt's work is never done!
